5 Favourite Window Display Formats

Navigating the world of window displays can feel like stepping into a vast sea of creativity, with countless possibilities and directions to explore. As a Visual Merchandiser or Store Owner, the window display serves as your storefront's first impression, beckoning passersby to pause, admire, and ultimately step inside. In this blog, we'll delve into five of my favourite window display formats, each offering its own unique blend of aesthetics, functionality, and brand expression.

1. PLINTH BASED WINDOW DISPLAYS

  • They highlight and elevate any product, quite literally putting your product on a pedestal.

  • A classic choice since Roman times, plinths can be customised to match any brand, colour, size, material, or style, making them versatile and adaptable to any business focus.

  • They can be budget-friendly or premium, and their versatility allows for easy updates to keep your displays fresh.

2. DECAL WINDOW DISPLAYS

  • Ideal for tinted windows or times of the day when glare is an issue.

  • They engage customers from the outside while adding an extra layer of detail to the display inside.

  • Offer creative opportunities with messaging, patterns, and colours, utilizing various effects and materials like iridescence and block colours.

  • A great solution to activate the exterior of your store.

3. FLORAL INSTALLATION WINDOW DISPLAYS

  • Extremely on-trend and adaptable to any brand.

  • Installation-based floral displays can be en masse, hanging, or arrangement-based, providing a captivating visual experience.

  • Perfect for collaborations with florists or display artists to craft site-specific installations.

  • These collaborations can help to create a strong online presence, enhancing brand visibility and engagement.

  • Consider using long-lasting Australian natives, dried or preserved florals, or high-quality silk florals to prolong the display's lifespan.

4. DIGITAL WINDOW DISPLAYS

  • Incorporating screens or projections into your window adds a high-tech touch to your display. It goes without saying that lighting is a major part of window displays and this becomes part of this element.

  • While there's a higher initial cost with digital screens in particular, the ability to update imagery and promotions easily provides long-term flexibility.

  • Offers visibility both during the day and at night, depending on daytime brightness settings.

5. ‘THE GIANT PROP’ WINDOW DISPLAY

  • A custom oversized prop creates a statement and spectacle, adding surprise and delight for passers-by.

  • Adds authority to the window, simplifying product placement.

  • Translates well on social media platforms, garnering attention and engagement.

  • Ensure alignment with brand style and consider how the product will complement the display.

Selecting the right window display format can significantly impact your store's aesthetic appeal and brand perception. Whether opting for classic plinths, eye-catching decals, botanical beauty, digital innovation, or larger-than-life props, each format offers unique advantages to captivate your audience and elevate your brand presence. Experimenting with different formats can help you discover the perfect blend of creativity and functionality to showcase your products and entice customers into your store.

Until next time,

Juliet
