My Top 5 Tips for Planning your Christmas Event
It’s that time of year again! Time to plan Christmas events and celebrations!
Planning a Christmas event often starts with the big things- venue, catering, guest list and entertainment. But once those are locked in, it’s the styling that really starts to create the atmosphere.
These are my top 5 things to get started:
Our shimmer backdrop really helped to set the scene for a festive celebration for the Unilodge Curtin students
1. Budget
This needs to be number 1 on the list. This will allow a budget for decoration, backdrops and styling. Once you know what you have to work with then you can move on to the fun stuff like your vision and experience!
2. Book to secure your date
The earlier the better, suppliers book up and there are only so many days in November and December. It is too late to book in November unless you have the ability to do everything internally/ within your own team.
3. What type of event & what is your WOW moment?
Confirming whether it is a hotel event, in-store VIP experience, staff Christmas party, reception area will help you decide where you will locate a backdrop, Christmas styling and so on. Then within that what or where is your big show stopping WOW moment? This could be a draped backdrop, shimmer wall, lighting installation…depending on which option works for you.
4. Choose your brand style
How can your backdrop and styling connect to the business and brand experience, whether for your team or customers? This can mean incorporating your logo into a photo backdrop or styling the whole event around the Christmas message / brand colour palette you have chosen and giving it a festive flavour.
5. Document the night
How is everyone going to remember the event? What experience will they have? Are you going to book in a professional photographer, get a photo-booth or styling/ backdrop company to ensure that it is memorable.
By assessing and deciding on these elements first, you are already part way there to creating the most memorable and exciting Christmas event and experience for your team and customers.
Until Next Time,
Juliet
